Coaches,
A couple of quick reminders about lineup cards from your referee
community. Please:
- Enter your players' jersey numbers into WebYouthSoccer
- Print your lineup cards from WebYouthSoccer
- Bring a lineup card to every game
- Leave the "quarters played" section blank before the game
Lineup cards that are not in jersey-number order are much harder for the
referees to use, and will slow down substitutions.
Allow the referee or assistant referee to fill out the "quarters played"
section. Referees are instructed to mark the players who are sitting
out at the start of each quarter (not the players who are in!). */Please
don't pre-mark the lineup card/* based on your game plan. When you do
that, it pretty much guarantees that some player arrives late or not at
all, or some player is injured during the match. Then a pre-marked
lineup card becomes much harder for the referees to track.
Remember that the clock is running during substitution breaks. Players
stay on the field, unless they are coming out for the next quarter.
Players who are out should show their numbers to whomever is keeping
your team's lineup card (usually, the referee in U7/U8 or the assistant
referee in U10 and up) */before /*they sit down.
Let's give your players the maximum possible playing time.
Thanks.
