This session is oriented primarily to referees who work U16 and U19
matches. But everyone is welcome, and some of the lessons will
definitely apply to U14 and possibly younger divisions. No RSVP required.

ANNOUNCEMENT!
AYSO Advanced Referee Seminar, for 2A and 2J Referees working in U16 and
U19 games
When: Monday, November 23, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
Where: Room 13, Hillview Community Center, Los Altos.
Topic: Dealing with Dissent
Speaker: Roy Levin.
Roy knew absolutely nothing about soccer when his six-year-old daughter
signed up with AYSO in 1987. He watched her first game, then decided to
read "the rules" before the following Saturday. Good thing, too, since
no referee showed up and someone stuck a whistle in his hand. He
managed to survive that terrifying experience, but decided he needed to
get some training, then some more training, and then some more training,
eventually becoming a National 1 referee in 1997. Roy has been a
Regional Referee Administrator (Region 26, Palo Alto, CA) and Section 2
Director of Instruction, and is presently a National Referee Instructor
and National Assessor. Since 2005, Roy has served on the National
Referee Advisory Commission. He instructs regularly at AYSO meetings
and courses around the country, at the Ken Aston Referee Camp, and at
Golden Gate Camp.
In his day job, Roy manages a research laboratory for Microsoft, where a
surprisingly large number of the lab members are AYSO referees. He has
two grown daughters, both of whom played AYSO, club, and high school
soccer, and probably learned more over the dinner table about refereeing
than they wanted.
Extra added attraction -- pizza and drinks will be served.
