Hello Coaches,
It is AYSO policy that at the games on Saturday, teams are on opposite sides of the field. If you are listed as "Home Team" in your webyouthsoccer game schedule you get to pick which side you want to coach and cheer from, regardless of whether the other team arrived at the field first. It is expected that your parents also cheer from that side. When I arrive at the field the first thing I do is locate the opposing coach and if I am the "home" team I tell the coach which side I want. If I am the "away" team I ask the coach what side they want. If I know I am the "Away" team I generally figure I will be in the sun so I make sure someone on my team will bring a shade canopy for that 2:30pm game.
Home team is also responsible for making sure the field is ready to play. If you are the first game of the day you will need to set up the field and make sure no dogs have left any "landmines" on the field. If you are the last game of the day you need to make sure the field gear(portable goals, nets, etc.) gets put in the lock box.
Thanks for your cooperation,
Kevin Hendren
