Hello Coaches,

Attached is the practice game schedule for the September 5th Practice Games.

This game is not yet listed in Web Youth Soccer, but I wanted to get it out
to you so that you can inform your parents.

Please get a count of the number of players who will be available for that
game. Once the games have been posted in Web Youth Soccer, you will then
have the contact information for your opposing coach and you can contact
him/her with your numbers and work out how to best balance out the teams -
especially if one team is short.

The practice game is not optional. Even if you only have 3 players, please
show up so that you can work on your game management skills and your
volunteer referees can have a tune-up before the season starts. You can even
up the numbers with the opposing team and if both teams are significantly
short, cone off a smaller area and scrimmage.

The master schedule likely won't be available until next week. We are still
ironing out a couple of issues which are impacting the release of the
schedule - gopher eradication dates that have been tentatively scheduled at
Loyola (our U7 Boys field) and an interlock we have with Palo Alto Region 26
for a U12 Boys team each week. As we deconflict all of our multi-team head
coaches, the work-arounds for these two open items impact the entire
schedule.


*U7 Girls Special Case*

For U7 Girls, we have an odd number of teams with 17. For the practice game,
we are going to schedule all of the teams. Teams 9, 10 and 11 are scheduled
to play at Oak field B at 12:15pm. We will have team 9 play team 11 for a
half. Team 10 will then show up and will play team 11 for a half. After
that, team 9 will play team 10 for a half given all three teams the
equivalent of a full match.

During the regular season, unfortunately, a team each week will end up with
a bye.


*U12 Boys Special Case*

For U12 Boys, we also have an odd number of teams with 15. For the regular
season, we will be interlocking this odd team against a team from Palo Alto
Region 26 - the game to be played in Palo Alto at a field and time to be
determined.

Palo Alto does not start their season until September 12th, so for the
practice game, we have tentatively plan to have a 3-way match. Team 8 will
play team 10 for a half. Team 9 will then show up and play team 10 for a
half. Finally, team 8 will play team 9 for a half, all at Cooper Park
starting at 2:30pm.

Coach Chris Migdal (U12B-9), please poll your team and let me know if you
will have 9 or more players on September 5th. If so, I will contact Palo
Alto Region 26 to see if they can send one of their teams to scrimmage you
at 4pm that afternoon. If this does work out, then team 8 and team 10 will
play a normal game at 2:30pm.

Note that U12B team 1 (coach Drew Wilkinson) will play a game on Saturday
October 10th (a bye week for all other U6 through U12 teams) in Palo Alto.
Team 1 will then have a bye for the final week of the season (November
21st).


*U6 Division - No U6 Session on September 5th*

There is no U6 session on September 5th. The coaches and parents meeting is
this Saturday (August 29th) and then the first session is Saturday September
12th.


** *U16 and U19 Teams*

Scheduling for these divisions is handled separately.
